The HFES Annual Meeting has long served as the premier gathering for human factors and ergonomics professionals from around the world. Each year, attendees come together to share cutting-edge research, exchange practical insights, and build lasting professional relationships. The event spans a wide range of technical sessions, keynote presentations, and interactive workshops that address the evolving challenges of human-centered design. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or new to the field, the meeting provides a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of how human capabilities and limitations shape the systems, products, and environments we interact with every day.
Student participation is a vital component of the HFES Annual Meeting, reflecting the Society's commitment to nurturing the next generation of human factors and ergonomics professionals. Dedicated student events offer emerging researchers and practitioners the chance to present their work, receive mentorship from established leaders, and connect with peers who share their passion for improving safety, health, and performance through thoughtful design. These experiences help students build confidence, refine their career goals, and establish a professional network that will support them throughout their careers in academia, industry, or government.
The city of Baltimore provides a dynamic backdrop for the Annual Meeting, with its vibrant waterfront, rich history, and accessible location along the East Coast. Attendees can explore the Inner Harbor, visit world-class museums, and enjoy diverse dining options within walking distance of the convention hotel. The venue itself is designed to facilitate both formal sessions and informal conversations, with spacious meeting areas and comfortable common spaces that encourage networking and collaboration. This blend of professional programming and urban exploration makes the meeting a rewarding experience for all who attend.
Health and safety remain top priorities for all HFES in-person events, with careful planning and monitoring of public health conditions guiding every decision. The Society works closely with venues and local authorities to implement appropriate measures that protect attendees while preserving the collaborative spirit of the meeting. Virtual participation options ensure that members who cannot travel can still engage with technical content and connect with colleagues online. This flexible approach allows the community to continue sharing science and advancing the field, regardless of changing circumstances.
